Exit
By Payton Edwards
The sign casts a red glow down the hallway
Red neon races throughout four simple letters
The door leads to an unknown adventure
Not somewhere I have been
But maybe you have

The Sign
By Payton Edwards
3567
Forgotten numbers ripped away by restless time and winds from passing cars
Half melted chunks of dirtied snow float on the still gray waters
Neon pink stands stark against the muted bark
Slowly fading
Not Ch
Winds and ruthless bouts of rain assault the vibrant pink
Tearing, shredding, revealing
Neon green peeks through like the frightful sun on a cloudy day
Tape peeling up slowly as if waking from a well needed slumber
ST DOG
Hope thrown into the way of the careless
Something to acknowledge with a wandering gaze
The sign soon to disappear like the message once slathered on its surface
Never to be found and stitched back together

Moon Bugs
By Payton Edwards
Appearing after the stars fall into place
A blue glow softens the darkness that eats at the trees
Flitting about in a haphazard manner
Chasing, flying, illuminating
The glow intensifies under the moon
The moon peeking its way above the center of lush trees
Changing course
Following the moon
Brightening the lonesome forest for a short while
